EPA suspends use of iprodione on cotton

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Rick Perry says the U.S. EPA has suspended the use of iprodione on cotton.

Iprodione is a fungicide sold under the name Rovral, manufactured by Rhone-Poulenc.

The temporary tolerance that EPA had for iprodione on cotton expired on March 15. EPA says it will not renew the permit for iprodione until further risk studies are completed.

Cotton growers can no longer use the product.
