Bridwell to lead foundation
Tucker Bridwell is leaving his job as president of Fred Hughes Motors to lead a local private foundation and investments company.
Bridwell will become executive director of the Dian Graves Owen Foundation, being responsible for its investments and scope of philanthropy.
He also will become president and CEO of Mansefeldt Investments Inc., Owen's privately held corporation. He will manage the corporation, which will focus on venture capital investments with special interest in initial public offerings.
"We have been acquainted for many years and I have often reflected on how closely our values, our beliefs and our interests have matched," Owen said. "He will work closely with me on my personal financial decisions. I feel very blessed with this new relationship."
Owen is a nationally recognized business executive and Abilene philanthropist.
Bridwell is chairman of the Development Corp. of Abilene, is a director of First National Bank and PALEX, and has recently been appointed to the board of the Texas Department of Economic Development.
Bridwell said non-profit organizations will learn more about the foundation early next year.
