AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Dallas Cowboys offensive guard Nate Newton says American
Olympic gymnast Kerri Strug ought to cash in on her gold-medal performance.
Strug has said she wants to maintain her college eligibility and will reject
the chance to make millions after her gutsy vault that helped wrap up America's
first Olympic team gold medal in women's gymnastics.
"Let's not make education more than what it is, because I know guys
who went to Harvard, Yale, Brown and they are not doing what they want to
do. They are working at some other job," Newton said during a break
at the Cowboys' training camp Friday.
"She got her 15 minutes of glory, so why not turn it into a million
dollars? She could buy a university then."
