Troy Aikman: Things Change

(From Press Release)

Dallas Cowboys quarterback and three-time Super Bowl champion Troy Aikman has written his first book for children.

Titled Things Change (Taylor Publishing Company; April 1, 1995, $14.95), its message is clear: use change to one's advantage and view temporary setbacks as opportunities to grow in new and better ways.

Using his own life as an example, Things Change illustrates how unexpected events in Troy's life led him to opportunities that have afforded him great success, and how embracing inevitable change has brought him lasting friendships and professional recognition.

Aimed at children 8-12 years old, the book is 40 pages with 30 full-color illustrations and 25 photographs. All of Troy's proceeds from the sale of the book will go to benefit the Troy Aikman Foundation, a non-profit organization benefiting disadvantaged children.

"In today's world, children face change constantly and need to be prepared for it and able to adapt," says Troy. While he is the main character in the book, Troy says, "...the book is not so much about chronicling my life as it is about passing along some of the life lessons I've learned along the way."
