Jan. 20, 2000

Dear Family,

After our big chat the other night, I have reserved the big 16-bedroom cabin at Scenic Point Northview at Possum Kingdom for the Aug. 18-20 weekend for the Reagan/Mitchell Reunion 2000.

To confirm the reservation, I am going to send a check for $742.50 (the first night's charge) to them by Feb. 1. It's $675 a night, not including tax ... which the above figure includes. That breaks down to $46.40 a bedroom (each night).

What I need to know from each of you is how many rooms (specify twin or double bed) you're going to need (remember there are 10 rooms with one double bed in them and 6 rooms with two twin beds in them).

So, for instance, if Coy and Cheryl were taking a room with a double bed for themselves, a room with twins for Carrie and Casey, and splitting one with Jim for Caleb with B.J., that would be 46.40 + 46.40 + 23.20 = $106. If they were pretty sure Anna/Robbie and families were coming, they'd probably want two more rooms (add 92.80).

So, think cots and pallets for the kids to save money and leave room for growth. There's no extra charge for extra people. We can cram as many in there as we want.

I did some quick math, and if everyone came who showed up last year, there would be 3-5 rooms left for all the new Mitchells and Richard and Betty Reagan if they want to join us (some of you probably don't remember Richard married into the Mitchell family about 60 years ago).

So, plenty of room!

The resort also has 20 motel rooms ($75 a night) right there, however, so if we did run out of room, people could still find something. AND, if you'd rather have a motel room, let me know that now as well. We'll just do the cabin bedrooms first-come, first-serve ... so let me know ASAP.

I'll include other info about the place on the web site (like it has 8 bedrooms on each side, with kitchen and living area in the middle -- two stoves and two refrigerators, etc.) after I've confirmed the reservation.

It sounds like a neat place.

Danny
