Victim of the media
In response to the March 11 letter by John Wolf, I would like to express my "disagreement ... with 'a little discretion and statesmanship.' "
You have fallen victim to the liberal media, the powers of the political machine and the mistaken belief that the president controls the budget.
Your own letter is a contradiction. You blame Reagan and Bush for the trillion-dollar deficit acted on by our irresponsible Democratic Congress, and give Clinton credit for the reduction in the deficit acted on by a responsible Republican-controlled Congress. You have been deceived by what you hear in the liberal media.
The last two elections have proven nothing to me. In both elections, Clinton won with less than 50 percent voting for him. As for approval ratings, the questions asked in those surveys are easily used for their intended benefit. A political machine, like the DNC or the GOP, can use those polls as they wish.
Too many questions have been raised about the president's character to believe responsible citizens should relax and accept him. In fact, exit polls (since you place value in the polls) showed people who voted for Clinton felt he was not truthful.
Our country has some real problems when we elect presidents we do not trust.
Political machines have not given us much of a choice, have they? That is why we need to control political contributions. It is a question of integrity when you use your elected office to benefit your own needs.

Who is master race?
This form of genocide has gone too far. Hitler attacked the Jews, the Klu Klux Klan attacked the blacks, and now the Republicans are attacking the Democrats. Surely the attackers have done nothing wrong. Those that stand as minorities are the wrongdoers.
An independent counsel is necessary, but not for the minority alone. The approaches show something is wrong with the superiors. Let there be an investigation of all.
Let Congress get busy and make rules that will govern any and all improprieties. It is time they did their job and did not try to be the superhuman race.
If crimes had been committed prior to the election, then the crimes should have stopped the voting process until punishment could be directed to the guilty party or parties.
Once a person is voted into office, he or she should be held responsible only for that which becomes their duties. If Congress had been too lazy with all their bickering to have made substantial laws, they have no right to accuse anyone of anything, other than themselves.
America is my country and I am proud of it, but I don't believe in a master race.
