New specific, simplified list of ARN e-mail
addresses
If you were out of town last week for spring break, perhaps
you missed the list of new e-mail addresses here at the Reporter-News.
The new address for sending letters to the editor from your
home computer is:
letter@abinews.com
As with all letters to the editor, e-mail letters must include
the writer's name, street address and phone number, and they must
be 250 words or less. Many word processing programs are equipped
to count your words for you and eliminate the guesswork.
Of course, we still accept letters sent the "old-fashioned"
way to Letters to the Editor, Abilene Reporter-News, P.O. Box
30, Abilene, TX 79604, or to our fax number at (915) 673-1901.
We hope streamlining our e-mail procedures will enable more
readers to contribute to our letters column and allow us to print
those responses with less delay.
Besides changing the e-mail address for letters, we've added
new e-mail addresses for various news departments. Those are:
City desk - citydesk@abinews.com
Business news - biznews@abinews.com
Sports - sport@abinews.com
Life news - lifenews@abinews.com
The Abilenian - abilene@abinews.com
School news - schools@abinews.com
Birthdays - birthday@abinews.com
Photography - photo@abinews.com
Obituaries - obits@abinews.com
In addition, these individuals also have e-mail addresses:
Glenn Dromgoole, editor - glennd@abinews.com
Carol Lackey, senior editor/features - caroll@abinews.com
Al Pickett, senior editor/sports - alp@abinews.com
Doug Williamson, senior editor/business - dougw@abinews.com
Jeff Wolf, senior editor/editorial page - jeffw@abinews.com
Larry Zelisko, senior editor/news - larryz@abinews.com
Bill Whitaker, columnist - billw@abinews.com
Plus, for those of you who check out the paper's home page
on the Internet, we have an address specifically designated for
your feedback regarding what you might read there. It is:
comment@abinews.com
We hope these new e-mail addresses will give readers easier
access to the people at the Reporter-News with whom they need
to communicate and, in turn, enable us to put out a more responsive
newspaper.
