Letter to the Religion Editor

Dear Editor:

In response to Carrie Cecil's letter of Sept. 20, I would like to let her know that Christ's place is within us in the form of the Holy Spirit. He is also at the right hand of God. He does not need for us to exalt Him to that position.

We must let Him grow in us so we can look at others with His eyes. He never condemned the person, only their teachings or beliefs. The only way a person is condemned is through the denial of Jesus Christ as God's only son. If He is not accepted, then He is denied.

Christ taught us how we are to live and it can be very hard at times because of our human nature. If it were easy then He would never have said that the road to heaven is narrow. That very human nature is what Satan feeds.

Certainly the nonjudgmental nature of Buddhism can be very attractive to those who need an excuse for the way they think, live or love. Trying to elevate any other figurehead to the position held by Christ and Christ alone is an attempt to ease the conscience.

When a person truly gets to the point of knowing who Jesus Christ is, there is no other faith possible. This is not because He will not allow it, but because you cannot allow it for yourself.

The reason anyone still argues against Christ is because they do not really know Him. To know Jesus is so powerful in every way that it leaves nothing to be sought after or desired.
