Churches to ring in New Year spiritually

St. James United Methodist Church, 3100 Barrow, will have a Covenant and Communion Watchnight Service at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The congregation will covenant together with God to spend the new year in fellowship with Him and harmony with others.

NEW YEAR'S EVE CELEBRATION AND WORSHIP

Aldersgate United Methodist Church will have a New Year's Eve Party and Worship service at 8 p.m. Wednesday. There will be dancing, table games, floor games, movies and more. Childcare will be available for infants and toddlers. Bring snacks to share and bring a friend. The church is located at 1741 Sayles.

SPECIAL MUSICAL SERVICES

Heritage Baptist Church, 3050 Buffalo Gap Rd., invites Abilenians to attend its special services Sunday morning. The Calvin Wills Family Singers will be features in the 8:30 and 10:50 a.m. service.

SECOND BAPTIST WATCHNIGHT

econd Baptist Church, 901 Victoria, will have a Watchnight service beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

LESSONS AND CAROLS

The service of Lessons and Carols will be held at both Episcopal churches Sunday.

ervices will begin at 10:30 a.m. at both churches, St. Mark's, 3150 Vogel, and Heavenly Rest, 602 meander.

No 8 a.m. or 12:15 p.m. Eucharist will be held at Heavenly Rest and no Sunday School will be held at either church.

EULA GAME NIGHT

A game night will take place at Eula United Methodist Church at 7 p.m. New Year's Eve, to be followed by a Communion service at 11.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

Brook Hollow Christian Church has called a congregational meeting for 9:45 a.m. Sunday for a budget presentation. The church is located at 2310 Barrow.

SPECIAL SPEAKER

Dr. Truman Turk, director of missions for Abilene Baptist Association, will speak at all three morning services Sunday at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. The church is located at 701 S. Pioneer

MOODYS CHEER GRACE UMC

The Moodys from Dallas will sing at Grace United Methodist Church, 1402 Grape, at 10:45 a.m. Sunday.

The Moodys have delighted thousands for years with their smooth country sounds and hits such as "The Walk Talk Song," and "I've Been Redeemed."

EVENING PRAYER

An Evening Prayer service will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The Rev. Kelly Schneider will lead the service at the church, which is located at 3150 Vogel one block east of Mann Middle School.

FELLOWSHIP 8 DEADLINE

Crescent Heights Baptist Church, 1902 N. Mockingbird, has set a Tuesday deadline to sign up for their Fellowship 8 groups which will begin Thursday.

FAMILY LIFE CENTER SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

Beginning in January the Heartbeat Sunday School class will meet from 9:40-10:40 a.m. in the First Baptist Family Life Center. This class is for adult participants in any of the FLC programs. The center is located at 1442 N. 2nd.
