Moments of Grace
Although I am only a freshman at Abilene Christian University,
I am already seeing the great miracles of God.
It was back in January when my mother and I were traveling
to visit ACU. Two women traveling by themselves at night is not
exactly the smartest idea in the world, but we were confident
God was watching over us.
As we began our long drive from El Paso, we were excited and
ready to see what ACU had to offer us. We eventually reached Midland,
when we began to hear a loud rumbling noise in the back left side
of our van.
Through a series of stops at convenience stores and checking
with a mechanic, we went on our way.
As we continued, the noise began to sound worse. We pulled
off the highway and stopped at the first gas station closest to
city lights.
When we got out, we saw smoke coming from our tire, which was
falling off and almost completely detached.
Thanks to some friends we knew in Odessa, we were able to go
on to ACU in their van, but I didn't fully realize the power of
God until we returned.
An elderly mechanic explained to us that our tire had almost
fallen off due to the eroding of the ball bearing, which was something
almost unheard of.
After hearing this, my mom and I knew ACU was where God wanted
me; otherwise, Satan wouldn't have tried so hard to stop us from
getting here!
Praise God for His love and grace.
