Slim Willet's Hit To Be Displayed in Library of Congress
The original manuscript of "Don't Let the Stars Get in Your Eyes," a song written by Abilenian Slim Willett, will be included in a Library of Congress permanent collection, 4 Star Sales Co., publisher of the song, has announced.
Willet's song was listed among the 10 top song favorites nationally for 19 weeks following its release on June 10, 1952.
Broadcast Music, Inc. also has asked permission to exhibit the manuscript at the convention of the National Assn. of Radio and Television Broadcasters in April at Chicago, according to the publishing firm.
Copies of "Don't Let the Stars Get in Your Eyes" were sold in several languages, including French, Spanish and Japanese.
"Tall Men" is the most recent Willet tune released by 4 Star Sales Co.
