Killeen 27, Odessa High 23

ODESSA -- Chris Lynce rushed for 111 yards and three touchdowns to lead Killeen past Odessa High 27-23 at Ratliff Stadium Friday night.

Odessa High held a 23-20 lead late in the third quarter when Killeen' s Chris Dominguez raced into the end zone from 27 yards to give the Kangaroos the lead for good.

Killeen had to rally three times to claim the victory. Odessa used a 10-yard touchdown run by Sonny Silvas and a 25-yard field goal by Jason Ramirez to take a 10-7 lead midway through the second quarter.

However, Killeen quickly regained the lead when Lynce scored on a 53-yard TD run to put the Kangaroos in front 14-10.

The Bronchos came back just before halftime on a 15-yard scoring pass from Rick Leach to Chad Webster to take a 17-14 lead into intermission.

Killeen needed just two minutes after halftime to regain the lead, but Odessa bounced back to regain the lead 23-20 when Augie Ortiz picked up a fumble and returned it 35 yards for a touchdown.

However, the Bronchos had no answer after Dominguez' s touchdown put Killeen ahead for the final time.
